It is recommended that manufacturers entrust product application to certified vinyl wrap and thin bra shops as installation requires unique skills and techniques to look right and extend the life of the film. Many shops for tinting and detailing windows also do the installation.

The main purpose of the paint protection film is to prevent scratches, stones, and other types of vandalism from damaging the paint and body of the vehicle. Usually used on the front of cars, trucks, and jeeps.

It can also be used on the entire body of the vehicle for maximum protection from the factory painting of the vehicle. Originally developed for use in military applications, it is now available for general use.

The auto industry has considered the benefits of protective films and has begun applying them to race cars to protect high carbon fiber and fiberglass auto bodies. The films available in the market today have been specially designed to be flexible and adapt to the vehicle body.
